A legal disclaimer

1. Introduction
At Bali Paws of Hope (“we”, “us”, “our”), we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of personal data from our website visitors, supporters, donors, and those involved in our rescue, care, play and adoption programmes. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and the rights you have in respect of your personal data, in accordance with Indonesian law, including the PDP Law.
2. What personal data we collect
We collect personal data when you:
-
Submit our adoption form: name, email address, phone number, information about the prospective adopter, and any other information required by the form;
-
Make a donation through our website: name, email address, billing / payment contact details (via the payment processor), and if applicable a phone number for correspondence;
-
Provide your phone number and/or email address to us for text‐message communication or email communication relating to the adoption or donation process.
3. How we use your personal data & lawful basis
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
-
To process and manage adoption enquiries (including assessing suitability, correspondence, arranging visits, finalising adoptions);
-
To process and manage donations — issuing receipts, acknowledging donations, and maintaining donor records;
-
To communicate with you by email or text message about your donation or adoption process, if you have provided your contact number or address and consented to this;
-
To comply with any legal or regulatory obligations.
Under the PDP Law, we rely on lawful bases including your consent, contractual necessity (for adoption or donation agreements) and our legitimate interest in running the shelter. Securiti+1
4. Cookies and website analytics
Currently, we do not use any external website analytics tools that process personal data. If in future we adopt analytics or tracking tools, we will update this policy accordingly.
5. Data sharing and transfers
We do not sell your personal data. We may share your personal data with trusted service providers (such as payment processors, email/text messaging services) who act as “processors” on our behalf and only on our instructions.
If your personal data is transferred outside Indonesia (e.g., to an overseas service provider), we will ensure that the recipient country or service offers an adequate level of data protection, or we will obtain your explicit consent, in line with the PDP Law’s requirements for cross‐border transfers. Securiti+1
6. Data retention
We will retain your personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described above (adoption processing, donation records, communications). After that, we will securely delete or anonymise your personal data. If you request deletion and there is no legal obligation to retain it, we will erase your data within a reasonable time.
7. Your rights
Under the PDP Law you have the right to:
-
obtain information about your personal data that we hold;
-
access a copy of your personal data;
-
request correction or completion of your personal data if inaccurate or incomplete;
-
withdraw consent at any time (for processing based on consent) — after which we will stop processing unless another lawful basis applies;
-
request deletion of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”) when applicable;
-
object to or restrict processing in certain circumstances;
-
request data portability (receive your personal data in a commonly used format) if applicable;
-
lodge a complaint with us or with a relevant supervisory authority. Securiti
8. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. While we endeavour to secure our systems, no data transmission over the internet is completely secure and so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s data
If you are under the age of 18, please do not submit your personal data without the consent of a parent or legal guardian. For any adoption or donation, if we become aware that personal data of a minor has been collected without proper consent, we will take steps to delete the data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time (for example, if we begin using analytics tools, or if Indonesian law changes). We will post the updated version on our website and indicate the date of last update.
